Hi,

I have heard the name ‘Portal framework’ in many places. But I don’t know what it is. Tell me what a portal framework is and give me some examples for portal frameworks in java.

Thanks.

Portal frameworks are any framework that support the JSR 186 (Portlet 1.0) or JSR 268 (Portlet 2.0) specifications.
I believe this includes JSF 2+, Spring 3+ (Spring MVC) and Liferay have their own light proprietary MVCPortlet framework.
