Hi Sean,

Would you post links to the ToC (and any other useful info) and perhaps give a brief overview of what the book's about and why you wrote it?

thanks,
Jeff L.

found this:

http://www.artima.com/shop/agile_hiring

... but would still welcome an answer to the latter part of my question. Also, to what extent do you delve into hiring technical folks?

thanks!

Hi Jeff. The book is predominantly about hiring technical folks. The ideas can be adapted to pretty much any roles though. I'm an Architect...one that actually develops, not one that writes specs. So my perspective is technical and I firmly believe that good hiring is much easier if the people involved in the hiring are highly competent in the areas they are interviewing for.

I wrote the book for a few reasons. I'm passionate about good hiring and wanted to share my ideas. I've noticed throughout my career, as an employee and as a candidate, that very few companies hire well. I figured there was an opportunity to add to the knowledge on hiring. I've also had success in several companies, improving their hiring, so I convinced myself I was qualified to write a book. You can judge for yourself after you read it. :-)
