Unable to Register for Part3

Hi,
I recently purchased part 2 assignment and was targeting to complete the OCMJEA before the August 1, 2011 deadline. I am working on the assignment right now and thought I will schedule part 3 in first week of July right away(to avoid lat minute rush). But when I was doing this in Pearson Vue's site I got this error "Oracle Certification Program policy requires that a 1Z0-865 or 1Z0-848 exam be graded before registration for exam 1Z0-866 is allowed."
1Z0-865 refers to part 2. I thought we could register for(possibly even appear for) the essay exam before submitting the actual assignment.

I am unsure on what the above error statement means. Does it mean just submission of part 2 or does it include grading as well? If it includes grading, I thought part 2 and part 3 were graded together as mentioned in Oracle's site webpage. Look at the section "Purchasing the Master Downloadable Project" and follow the link for Prometric over there webpage

Per my plan, I will be able to complete the assignment only by first week of July. If they take 4-6 weeks to grade it from then, I'll not be able to register for part 3 until August. This implies I'll not be able to meet the August 1 deadline because I've not completed part3. I see slots open for part 3 in Prometric before the end of May. Would it be wise of me to take the test from Prometric before May end and then submit the assignment in July?

Am I wrong in my assumptions?

From what I know, part II won't be graded until part III is completed, at least it was like that with Prometric.

I have the same problem. I tried to call them but no luck. Please give us an update if anybody finds any solution.

I don't think we can write the part3 first and then submit the assignment after 2-3 weeks. The essay is based on our assignment. How would we answer if we haven't finalized our design?

If that is the only choice, I would go for that. Is there anybody who did something like(sending the assignment after the part3 exam,at least 1 week gap)?

I would prefer to take part 3 after part 2 as well but cannot afford the mandatory training. The registrations in prometric closes by this week ( or early next week) unsure of exact dates. I am desperately in need of help. If someone can offer valuable guidance, I'll greatly appreciate

I believe, candidate submits part 2, takes part 3 and then only part 2 is examined.

When I took SCJD, which involves assignment & essay exam, assignment was examined only after I took essay exam, and in essay exam I was asked questions related to assignment about my decisions implemented in assignment & justification for those decisions.

So one need to take part 3 SCEA, then only part 2 will be examined.

which tells me that it was possible with Prometric in the past and until May end but not after that

0. I have purchased the assignment CX-310-301A (1Z0-865) from the Prometric website with a valid credit card (NOT a voucher) and I haven't finished it yet.

How I send it to Pearson without a voucher number?

1. I have created a Pearson web account but I cannot see exam 310-062 (1Z0-866) to send my assignment.

2. The assignment clearly stated that

"You must complete your essay exam (part III) at Prometric PRIOR to sending us your assignment. Your assignment will NOT be graded without your having completed the essay exam (310-062)".

2. I have cancelled the essay exam 310-062 (1Z0-866) with Prometric following Oracle's suggestions and tried to schedule it with Pearson but I get this message from Pearson's website:

"Oracle Certificacion Program policy requieres that a 1Z0-865 exam be graded before registration for exam 1Z0-866 is allowed".

How can the assignment be graded (1Z0-865) WITHOUT having completed the essay examn (1Z0-866)?

3. Does anybody at Oracle have even a clue about all of this matter? Do they care about it?

Called prometric the only thing they can tell is complete both assignment and essay before May 31st. Nobody knows about the new policy of 'you can register for part 3 only after part2 grading' will be effective . If they can give a waiver till August 1st. then we are good or we just need to submit part2 before registering part3.

Hopefully Oracle will correct it.

The problem is if you go by the policy of part 3 submission after part 2 grading, I highly doubt if anyone can do that before August 1. Provided, Oracle stands by this policy and that you are just starting part2 like me. This would mean that your part 2 is submitted and you cannot take part 3 because then you will have to undergo the mandatory training

As per my understanding, it's possible to complete part 2 (send assignment to Oracle by email if it's ready) and take part 3 with Prometric before May 31st. Is it 100% correct understanding? If yes, I would like to go ahead and make an appointment with Prometric right away for part 3 and send assignment to Oracle directly (by email) by end of this month.

If you submit both parts 2& 3 before May then no problem. The big question that we have unanswered is doing part3 with Prometric and then Part 2 with Pearson Vue say a month later

Well, but how can we schedule to essay wich is prerequisite for have the step two graded without have the step two graded. It´s a joke?? I can´t believe. Any one had solved this question?

As the per the new rule, you must to submit the assignment first before scheduling the essay exam. I believe there is a difference between submitting/uploading and grading.

So, Oracle will not grade it until they have both the assignment and essay with them.

But to register for the essay, the assignment must be submitted first. And once you submit the assignment you can right away register for the essay and can take on the same day.

Also, please check the FAQs on the oracle site before submiting an assignment, if you have purchased the assignment from PRometric and trying to upload as in that case the exam code is 1Z0-848.

It is explicitly stated on the Oracle website. This is considered a proctored application exam where "Proctored exams are considered high-stakes exams and are therefore only delivered with a proctor. All exams, except Oracle Database OCM exams, are offered at Pearson VUE testing centers and some are offered at Oracle University training locations in some regions."

Yes, I know - I took part 3 last week.
1.You have to first 'submit' the assignment - without that you cannot register for Part 3.
2.As soon as you upload the assignment, you will be able to register & schedule for part 3 - exam will NOT be graded until you finish part 3 (yah, that message is wrongly worded - they should correct it)
3. You have to visit a center, show your ID card and take this exam like any other - at the end of the exam a marksheet will be generated which shows the status as 'Pending'.
Then, we have to wait for the grading.

or wait to get the user name and password for Pearson and then upload the assignment. I don't have any voucher since I paid by credit card.

If you are submitting the assignment via Pearson VUE, then you have to buy the exam from Pearson VUE( If you have bought it via Prometric, then I guess you can still use the same details to convert into Pearson's coupon ). Once you have registered for Part 2, then you can download the assignment and after completing, open up the same exam and it will prompt you to upload the assignment. Once your upload is done, the exam will be marked as complete and you can register for Part 3 immediately.

Anyways I have contacted [e-mail] and got the automated reply back saying it may take 5 days to the response from them.

In the meantime, I got the email confirmation from Pearson and account is enabled.

Now I'm really confused. So I have passed part 1, I have downloaded part II from Prometric, now I want to register for part 3. How do I do that, cannot register on the Pearson VUE website as it says that I have not completed the required parts. Where do I upload my assignment? Should I just send it by email and wait till my status changes on Person VUE website? Shall I upload it on the Person VUE webiste? How? Is the end of July still a valid date to pass scea without additional training? Please help.

In order to register for part III you have to upload your assignment. After receiving the voucher number you can follow below steps to upload the assignment:

"
1. Go to www.pearsonvue.com/oracle.
2. Click on Schedule A Test
3. Select "Master Assignments" under "What type of exam are you planning to take?" section
4. Login with your Pearson Vue user name and Password (Create a Pearson VUE web account at pearsonvue.com/oracle if you do not already have one.)
5. Access the assignment online at pearsonvue.com/oracle, using test number 1Z0-848 for the Architect assignment and 1Z0-844 for the Developer assignment.
6. Using your voucher code to access one of these tests will place you into a special form of the assignment where you can upload your completed work.

Just to clarify, what voucher are you talking about? I have voucher designated for part III, I have already paid and used voucher for part II with prometric when I downloaded my assignment. Does it mean that If I use my newest voucher to upload my assignment I won't be able to use it to register for part III? So at the end I will have to use 4 vouchers, one for part 1 (prometric), one to download my assignment (prometric), one to upload my assignment (person) and one for part 3 (pearons), I want to use 3 vouchers only . I still don't quite get it.

Hi Krzysztof,

You have to contact OCP Team ([e-mail]) and request for voucher replacement (the one that you used to download your assignment). Once they replace it you will be able to upload your assignment.

In my case it took 3 days to get a new voucher #.
