I am writing a utility where in I have to upload arount 1000 files from client side. Can we upload folder in java instaed of files upload?

What are you using to upload? Ftp, Socket, HTTP?

make the folder as a file like zip and then upload.

In that case no. You'll need to iterate through the files and send them one by one. Or follow the suggestion that Seetharaman made.
