I just was too rough for a touch screen a few hours ago.

It was half accident, but half frustration too since the program did not work.

Ah, offered to pay for it myself.

I am feeling a bit depressed at me moment!!

Ah, yes, threw coffee over my keyboard once too. But it was less expensive then this touch screen I demolished now.

I once slammed the conference room door, making the whole conference room rattle. My official statement that my hand "slipped" was accepted.

Decades ago, I was working on a disk loading device for a WORM disk drive. This thing was huge -- the setup was to full racks that faced each other.

And this device used light sensors to detect the location of disks. And whether they were in the drives / slots etc.

One of the error handling stuff that I needed to do, was how to handle the case where the sensor failed. Meaning if the sensor failed, and the jukebox tries to put a disk into a slot that already had another disk, what is the error code that will be returned. The manual didn't mentioned it -- and I searched and searched.

Pretty simple solution. Tape the light sensor. Order the jukebox to move a disk into an already occupied slot. See the resultant error, and code the driver to detect it. Pretty simple huh?

For some reason, it never occurred to me that one option could be the jukebox slamming a disk into an already occupied slot -- shattering the disk and sending sharp pieces of plastic all over the place.

Come on, where are the juicy stories of people accidentally deleting the production database? I never did anything like that so I unfortunately don't have an interesting story to share...

O boy ! I hope my first project boss doesn't read this, but just for meaningless drivel...

Do you guys remember our old mouse with balls inside ? now replaced by fancy laser optical mouse

I seriously dont remember how many of them I collected ... Sorry guys.. I know I was being bad.. but I liked those tiny balls - a big stress relief.

Oh - on my first day at a new Job - I blew a Unix server up! Not really my fault - server room was a mess, I tripped the power lead and it when pop!! Told my boss and he said - "well done, its an old box and we have been wanting to replace it for a long time".....

Used to blow things up all the time - but as a sapper, and its was my job to do so!!!

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
