Guys,

I get the following exception during Tomcat startup of a Struts application:

I suspect that there is an offending class in the lib folder....

I really do not know from where did the xwork-2.0.4 come from?

I removed the dependency to xwork-core-2.2.4 and it worked fine.

Hold on. Still the same problem persists. Baffles me... I'm not sure from where did this xwork-2.0.4 come from? I have not defined it in any of my dependencies.

What even more confuses me is that the same project when build and run in a Linux box works without any problems, but when I use a Windows box, I get a ClassNotFoundException on com.opensymphony.xwork2.util.logging.LoggerFactory. I guess Struts 2.2.3, requires xwork-core 2.2.3. But if I include it as a dependency, then it leads me to the above error.

Allright, all I want to do now is to include xwork.core-2.2.3.jar as a dependency to my project and get rid of the xwork-2.0.4.jar. How can this be done?

This is awkward. I've grown a second evil head. I'm going to need a machete and a tiny ad ...
