Hi, I am going to bother you after my fruitless attempts to debug the code shown below. The message is "NoSuchMethodError: value" and I am very confused by the message.

And the message on the console is:

You're not giving alot of detail about where this code is used or what other steps you have performed before getting to this point. From the looks of it it's an exploration of how JAXB works (tutorial exercise?). It's a bit tricky to see where the error comes from without knowing such things.

Using your code I get the following message back in Eclipse:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.apache.xerces.impl.xs.XMLSchemaLoader.loadGrammar([Lorg/apache/xerces/xni/parser/XMLInputSource;)V
at org.apache.xerces.jaxp.validation.XMLSchemaFactory.newSchema(Unknown Source)
at javax.xml.validation.SchemaFactory.newSchema(Unknown Source)
at javax.xml.validation.SchemaFactory.newSchema(Unknown Source)
at com.register.jaxb.JAXBUnMarshaller.unMarshall(JAXBUnMarshaller.java:21)
at com.register.jaxb.JAXBUnMarshaller.main(JAXBUnMarshaller.java:63)

Searching for NoSuchMethodError: org.apache.xerces.impl.xs.XMLSchemaLoader.loadGrammar gives a few hits in which there's talk about conflicting Xerces libraries. Check your classpath to see if there is more than one Xerces library present or not.

Cheers,
Wim

Edit: In this Eclipse project for example, I have a JDOM and a FOP library which both hold a xerces lib. Removing one solved the error.
