Need help with moving file from one directory to other

This is the code i have written....I am not knowing why the code is not working. Please somebody help me

		t.moveFileNew("source", "destination", "book.xls");

	public static void moveFileNew( String directory1, String directory2, String fileName )

        	System.out.println("create directory: " + directory2);

        }

        File dir = new File(directory2 + "/" + fileName); // new location

First of all, welcome to the JavaRanch.

I've added code tags to your post making it much easier to read. Try to include them the next time you post code.

Try the commented code. Also this:

File file = new File(directory1 + "/" + fileName);

Should be written as:

File file = new File(directory1, fileName);
