Hi All,

I have recently resigned from an MNC(INDIA) within 7 business days of joining there. There is no dependency on me as Iam not assigned with any work or any knowledge transition.

But still the company wants me to serve the notice period for 30 days as part of the company policy.
I will be able to serve at a maximum of 17 days.

I am not sure what needs to be done.
I wont be able to stay and serve the notice period.

I am not able to sleep nor do anything because of this stress.

I have told the same about the stress I am feeling.

I have already told that my parents are very old and I have to take care of them and wont be able to continue..
Still they say that I need to serve the notice period as per the HRpolicy.

Please tell me what should I do.

As I have already resigned if I stop going tothe company will they put me into blacklist or NASSCOM, Idont have the NSR registration.
I have also told that I dont want any salary as well.
I dont want the reliving letter or anything from them.
I need a fair exit.

Please help me..what I needto.

Welcome to the Ranch

If you really are that stressed, and it is making you ill, go and see a doctor. Maybe you can work out your notice period as sick leave.
Don't simply go, otherwise you will deserve blacklisting.

I agree with the opinion of Campbell Ritchie...

If you are really stressed and depressed, please visit a doctor.

If it is possible, ask a relative/friend or employ a maid to look after your parents in the short term like a month.

If you are on job-hopping strategy, I think the better option will be to serve the notice period of the current company first and negotiate with the new company for the joining dates.

Hope this helps..

I will be able to serve for 24 days out of 30 days..
Even in this case they can take any action against me as my joining date in other company cannt be extended beyond this.

See whether you can buy out notice period. Normally, when resigned, you need to serve notice period or you can pay the one month salary
to leave. See your offer letter has anything like this.

Hi Sai,

Its mentioned in the offer that.
A person has to serve the notice period or can pay the money or a company can terminate immediately.
And there after it clearly mentioned that It depends on the company/mangaer/HR what to do.
If they want to serve a person has to.

This was mentuoned in the offer.

I dont need the salary, reliving letter nor anythng from them, I even didnt provide any original docs. I gave
only xerox docs.
I only need a fair exit from them.
Please help me out in this what needs to be done

Like I said & will repeat: For fair exit you HAVE to get a relieving letter from them. If not then forget fair exit.
Since you have worked only a month, and in this situation you don't have any choice but stop going there. It is not completely ethical, but there is only that much you can do.
And again, I do not think there would be something like being blacklisted, it does not happen as far as my knowledge.
You have not given any documents etc nor you want a relieving letter so you have not much dependency on them.
Chill. You should join the next company.

I recommend searching in this forum for people in India who tried to find a job without a proper relieving letter. It sounds pretty important from their experiences.

that means you need to get the relieving letter. also you have mentioned that you can serve 24 days out of 30 days. It sounds like your future employer put pressure on you. First you try discuss about your situation with them/future employer.

*I suggest you to go and talk to your current Project Manager instead of HR.

I will again talk to them about my release as absconding is not ethical, though I have already resigned.

In case if I wont get any inputs from them, I will send a mail on the day of absconding that I wont need the
month salary(50thousand/-rs) that I am suppose to get.
I hope atleast in this way it will be benifited to them as they have hired me.

Because I was on bench and I didnt get any work to do atleast.

Dont worry about them.

You dint even work for more than 10 days. Dont worry as long as you are starting your career in India and you dont want to put that company in your resume.

Hi Seetharaman,

I joined the company and within 7 days I resigned. I am assigned to an account but not to any project.
Fom the day of my resign its exactly 11 days. No project-->No dependency->No transition but my manager
is wild, thy want me to still serve the notice.

I dont want any reliving letter also.
I dont have any NSR registration done, not sure if that can be done by company on our behalf.
The fairexit I mean thy shld nt keep me into blacklist..or thy should not update the NSR registry as absconded.

I guess in our INDIA they wont care about the employee timmings.
They have told me that they will intimate me today, but nothing has went in,
they are not picking my call as well.
Sent a mail but of no luck...

I think time has come to me to go without serving the notice period and without telling them.
Not sure what to do now...
