Avoid Default Login after unsucessful attempt

I am connecting to an ISeries database I am trying to use a custom login window. The problem is that if the user enters the wrong username/password the Connection takes over and prompts the user with a builtin login to "try again" My code is built to handle incorrect passwords but this issue is getting in the way.

PasswordResetLogin() is my custom login window


if

fails. It immediately takes over prompting the user to reeneter the data with a default window.
