Hi Max. Thanks!

My book does not mention WSO2, honestly because I have never heard of it (or didn't retain it). I must admit that your question gave me a mini panic attach because there was something important about REST/Web Services that I didn't know! I did just wikipedia it and it looks like an interesting, large effort that my technology radar somehow missed.

So, with all of those admissions out of the way, what do you think about WSO2? Does it do something that you find uniquely helpful or interesting in regard to helping folks build and maintain web applications?

Thanks for the reply. I really know little about WSO2 except that the company I work for asked me to look into it as part of an ESB solution.
To be honest, I am alwasy a little careful of vendor middleware layers and all that implies--seems we've been there before. I'm a big fan of KISS.
But I am scheduled for a seminar with them.

I meant to add that since your book doesn't mention WSO2 and that you haven't heard of them, it is helpful in giving me a view on where they might stand in the bigger scheme.

That's a great way of looking at it. That said, I have a legitimate fear that my "tech radar" is not picking up all of the cool new REST-related and true web service stuff. It's a good problem to have though, as it seems that we are in the middle of a Web tech renaissance.
