Does playing politics require experience, how can one train himself on safe politics?

Usually the best thing to do with politics is - do the right thing regardless of how others behave.

It is usually best not to play.

However it does help if you can identify when politics is taking place, even if you don't mean to participate. I'm sure that comes naturally to many people -- probably those are the ones who are participating -- but it doesn't come naturally to everybody. So yes, acquiring experience would be helpful.
