I'm trying to figure out how to code a jsp page that contains a form of at least one field that has the capability to lookup the field value in the backend database. I have a simple Struts app that is connected to MySQL database. Not sure how to generate a popup window, provide the end user the ability to search the database to find the field value, and pass the value back to the parent screen with the selected value in the form field.

I looked into the Struts Layout tag library and it has the openpopup and closepopup javascript functions, but I can't seem to find a simple example of using these functions. Does anyone have (or can point me to) a sample code file that uses these functions - successfully?

I know there must be many alternatives, but can't seem to get a solid example to use a basis for my own application.

Please forward any information/examples that you may have. I would really appreciate it.
