I suggest the follwoing 2 books

1) JSP 2.1 - The Complete Reference by Phil Hanna
2) JSP in Easy Steps by Mike McGrath (If you want to learn the basics quickly)

Regarding the first book you will not find too many sample programs there. But you can understand the concepts and write your own sample programs and try them out.

I suggest that you refer the following sites for small code snippets after you learn each concept:
1) www.roseindia.net
2) www.tutorialspoint.com

Regards,
John

Avoid roseindia like the plague. It's known to be full of poor examples and bad practices. Only go there to learn how to program badly.
