Can you direct me how to achieve a save draft feature in Struts 2

like a user while filling the form has a button save draft on clicking it will save the current state of the operation

when he resumes filling the form it has to start from the same state

Do you mean saving after login or before login? It's might possible after login but before login it's not possible. Just make a ajax call on a point of time to save the data into database.

The first thing that comes to mind is to have a flag in the database that indicates if a record is a DRAFT or DONE.
