Special select:option

hi guys
How can I create a select box when its content divided
into 2 group such as each group has its title...
for example a select option that has the following options :

a
1
2
3
b
4
5
6


Note that a and b are just titles and can NOT be choosen ...

I dont know of a way to do what you're asking. What I've done in the past is just given the titles (a,b) bold font and a null value. It also helps to do things to make it stand out...ie
