ForumRepository.getAllCategories NullPointerException

At the forum's default page /JForum/forums/list.page I get this exception (first error stack trace below). No groups are shown.

Also when trying "New Topic" I get a similar exception but in SmiliesRepository.getSmilies (second error stack trace below)

The Forum used to work the last weeks, but not now. What could be the problem?

Seems my problem is the same as described here: https://coderanch.com/t/575232
However, saving all permissions does not help.

Perhaps the problem is solved. Currently, it always happens when I add "www" first in the forum URL. Without "www", the forums works.

The problem seems to have gone away again when I asked the ISP to reload the forum. I'll tell you if it reappears.
