Hi all,

another thing, that probably could not be called problem, but...

If I click on the recent topics link, everything works OK, I see these topics. But there is an exception in the log file:

This happens as DBUtils tries to close the statement and clear warnings. Could anyone help?

Thanks in advance

You might be using an older version of the c3p0*.jar file. There are some reports of this happening with older versions.

Alternatively, it could be the result of "stale" connections in the pool. DB servers (and occationally JDBC drivers) have connection timeout rules. This means that the c3p0 pool might have connections that have been closed remotely. Generally this type of error will be logged but the the pool just gets a new connection and everthing works.

To get rid of errors like this you may need to play with the C3P0 settings in the jforum config file. One to start with is: database.ping.delay This defines the number of seconds between "checks" of idle connections. This needs to be less than your jdbc/server connection time out.

In addition, there are a bunch of c3p0 specific initialization parameters that can be used here. See:

These can be added via the jforum config file property: c3p0.extra.params. The value of this is a string of c3po settings separated by semi-colons (;). E.g, p1=v1;p2=v2;..
