When configuring a JBoss AS server in Eclipse, Eclipse looks for various files within the JBoss directory to verify that it contains a valid JBoss AS installation. The files looked for changes with every version of JBoss AS. You might be better off using a more recent version of Eclipse, and with using JBoss Tools - the tools track the constant shuffling of JBoss AS files much better than Eclipse itself.
