Berean Group seeking Front End Javascript Web Developer
Location: Redwood City or Emeryville, CA
Duration: 6 Months
Job type: Contract
Citizenship / Work Authorization: Must be US Citizen or Perm Resident Only
Key Responsibilities
• Act as the UI/UE representative on product teams, providing subject matter expertise and guidance
• Create re-usable front end libraries that can be shared across projects
• Be a strong proponent of web front end optimizations through sprites, CSS style sheets, CDN usage, JavaScript libraries, etc
• Be able to drive analytics and web metrics through Omniture or Google Analytics
Required Technical Skills and Experience
• Min 3 Years experience in Software Development with extensive experience using applicable web tech stack
• Expert Knowledge of the following Web Technologies: JavaScript/HTML / DHTML / JSTL / CSS / JSON / Ajax
• Competency in
Java required
• HTML5/CSS3 is a big plus
• Work experience with Firebug / Yslow/ httpwatch for front end performance tuning
• Experience with Model-View controller (MVC) Design
Patterns
• Experience using JSON/XML as data formats
• Understand the current content ingestion, hosting, and CDN based delivery processes
• Experience with build systems and build processes (
Ant, Maven, etc.)
• Advantageous to have experience with databases (SQL), C++, Spring
Additional Skills
• Experience using at least one source code management systems (CVS, Subversion, Perforce, etc.)
Performance Competencies (Non Technical Skills)
• Ability to work with tight timelines, multitask and prioritize objectives with limited supervision and to be a self-starter
• Attention to detail: ability to define
test cases, document processes, set expectations, and take over big projects with minimal supervision
• Understanding of agile methodologies, e.g. Scrum
