Well I'm new in here. Hope you guys be patient with my English because it is a brazilian who speaks.

I'm a beginner. I just downloaded the Spring Framework and I'm having some problems when trying to configure it.

So here we go... When I try to run my jsp page through the browser I have the following error message which I think that may have something wrong with the xml configuration. I can't see nothing wrong with that though.

exception

javax.servlet.ServletException: Servlet.init() for servlet springmvc threw exception
org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:102)
org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:293)
org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Processor.process(Http11Processor.java:859)
org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Protocol$Http11ConnectionHandler.process(Http11Protocol.java:602)
org.apache.tomcat.util.net.JIoEndpoint$Worker.run(JIoEndpoint.java:489)
java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

Is this a complete stack trace? If not post the whole thing. Also what does you web.xml /Spring configuration look like?

Actually there's a little bit more. I will first show configurations I did ... Then I'll finish it by showing the entire error message I'm getting when running.

Right under root cause shows you the important part

Check you web.xml its WEB-INF not WEB/INF it is failing to find your spring-context.xml.

Also for an example of a typical web.xml to bootstrap a Spring project have a look here:
https://github.com/SpringSource/spring-mvc-showcase/blob/master/src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/web.xml

the root context contains bean definitions that should be shared by all servlets your mvc related stuff goes in the servlet scoped context.
