In my Struts application one JSP page , one field is mundatory. If null then throw error message in the same page. The action forward is working fine(failure and forward to same page) but error message is not displaying. For other jsp pages it is working fine. Please let me know what might be the cause of this.

You haven't provided enough information for us to help you. Please post the code that generates the error message as well as the relevant portions of your JSP page (the html:errors or html:messages tags).
