Hii.. I am new to Java Server Faces, and I need to work on the latest version of JSF. Eclipse Juno(latest release) IDE and Jboss Version7.0 are provided to work. The problem I am facing is, Eclipse Juno is showing upto Jboss verion 5.0 to select server not the latest one(7.0). Now I am working with Jboss 5.0 , but daily I am facing different kind of problems and am not getting solution in net also for most of them. In the following link "JavaServer Faces 1.2 and Tomcat 5.5" it is mentioned like Jboss 5 not even supports JSF1.2.
So please suggest the compatible softwares for JSF latest version. (Note :My team will provide only Eclipse Juno I guess, so please suggest if any plug-ins are available for this, instead of suggesting alternate(like Netbeans etc.))
It is very disturbing that Eclipse is having such an influence on your design options. IDEs are supposed to help development, not shape it. For one thing, IDEs change as time progresses. One of the things that soured me on Windows development was that Visual Studio was so much in control of my projects that I couldn't do emergency one-line fixes without installing obsolete versions of Visual Studio so I could compile the changes.
JBoss 5 can run JSF 1.2 apps. However, JBoss 5 has JSF 2.0 built into it, and so you have to configure the JSF 1.2 apps not to use the built-in JSF, but to include a JSF implementation that you supply as part of your application's WAR. Documentation on how to do this is available from JBoss.org.
Sometimes the only way things ever got fixed is because people became uncomfortable.
