HI, with spring 3.0.4, hibernate, I created an EAR project using Netbeans 7.
I have a "deliveries" and "address" table in my database.
I used Netbeans generated their entities and web services.
deliveries -> address.

When I use SoapUI to test the web service, there some exception thrown:

Deliveries.java:
....

Address.java:
.......

There may be something wrong when I generated the entity classes, but I am not too sure..
Any suggestion is very appreciated.
Thanks
Sam

OK, It all depends on who loaded what. So basically the error is stating that you added a Deliveries to the Address object into the deliveries collection. That was created using the "new" keyword, then added to the collection. I am going to assume you made no changes besides that to the Address object. So therefore the Address object hasn't changed to cause an automatic change detection and an update statement created which would then fire off the cascade. Instead the transaction ended and the new Deliveries was never added to the PersistenceContext and therefore not flushed to the database, then the transaction ended and Hibernate said, wait you have an object here that has no ID, it is transient and was never saved. Therefore it is just warning you and letting you know. It won't be an exception that you causes the transaction to rollback.

So what I recommend at this point is to do

entityManager.persist(deliveryAdded)

To get the new Deliveries to be inserted when the transaction commits.

Just found out what was wrong.
When Netbeans generate those entities, it "forget" to put cascade=all to the @ManyToOne attribute.
Once I changed that, it works perfectly.
