First of all, please KeepItDown.

Congratulations, champion!

It all depends on the job you are looking for. I wonder if you can get a job as a (junior) java programmer just because you got this certification. This certification is not really made for java programmers. If you want a job as a java programmer the OCAJP 7 certification will be more appropriate (and will be far more challenging than this one).

Here are the details about my exam preparation:

First off all, JavaRanch, thank you very much for helping me tremendously preparing for this exam.
Indeed, I got valuable knowledge about java associate exam and tips which led me to pass this exam.

I am a recent Comp Sc graduate with B.Tech degree.
I just followed Robert and Finegan's SCJA book and did mock questions from Whiz labs.

SCJA book by Robert J.Liguori and G.Finegan helped me a lot in achieving my certification. Thanks to the authors for clearly explaining the topics with examples and mock questions at the end of each chapter.

Whiz labs mock tests helped me to improve my java knowledge and test taking ability and made me realize where I was standing. Questions in the exam where nearly similar to the questions in whiz labs.

On the day of exam I was little tensed and nervous as it was my first certification. Once I started answering the questions one after the other I got relaxed, I could think well as I had ample time to solve all of the questions. In my test I got nearly 40 percent technology based questions and another 50 percent programming and rest 10 percent other exam topics.

Technology questions means:
<Which of the following doesnot comes belong to webtier
1.MSD
2.Servlet
3..........
4..........
A.MSD >

Programming questions means:
<What is the output of the following program
public Certi
{
public static void main()
}
>

Other topic questions means:
<mainly about interfaces and thier implementation>

Now, as I have passed my OCJA, I am moving forward to OCJP.

Thanks and good luck!

-Mahesh
