Have a look at our Struts FAQ.
Unless there's some reason you need Struts 1.x, like you are maintaining an existing application, you should use Struts 2.x. The earlier version of Struts has numerous drawbacks that Struts 2.x addresses.

Hi Joe thanks for your reply.

I am aware of the drawbacks in struts 1. and lessons learned in struts 1 are implemented in struts 2.

Currently I am learning struts 2. I would like to refer struts 1 also.
