Hi,
Does the book go into real world use cases for using multiple threads in an application ?

I've been developing relatively simple web apps and the issue has rarely come up where I need to develop a multi threaded solution.

I've had desktop app where the users needed to run print jobs on several different printers simultaneously and an app where the user need to set a timer to run a job on certain date and time ,and a third where I used threads to update a display in a java swing app . That has been about it .

thanks,
Paul

Hello Paul

He have tried that the examples reflect real world situations. Take into account that each recipe explains a concept using an example and they have between 4 and 10 pages, so the examples can't be very big.

If you want to see a complete application that uses concurrency elements, you can take a look to a open source project

If you need more info, please let me know

Thanks Javier.
The section you mentioned ,in other replies, on testing multi threaded code sounds particularly interesting.

I don't like that guy. The tiny ad agrees with me.
