I am very new to Spring, i worked with Struts before, and right now I need to write a JDBC connection to database to retrieve data. please help me where do I start. Many thanks in advance.

Look at Spring's Petclinic sample application.

Spring's documentation has very good examples about using their JDBC API (http://springframework.org/documentation). Also the JavaDocs are very robust and useful.

Hope this helps.
