If I understood correctly , you have a running url : https://sanju:9043/test
and now your client is asking you to convert it into : . https://sanju/test
---------------------------------------------------
This is acheivable.
you have two ways , theoritically either change the default secure port number 9043 --> to 443
or more practical way ... by installing a webserver and then installing websphere plugins
---------------
Mostly your client is requesting you to achieve the second option.
webbrowser ---> webserver (accepting secure request @ 443) --> plugins (redirecting the request to correct JVM) ---> websphere (running at 9043)
----------------
hence my suggestion : install IHS , Websphere plugin , propagate plugins
Google about this and you will achieve what you want . For more querries just post back

Hi Harneet,

Harneet what i want to do is , as you understood correctly, the url : https://sanju.9043/test this is corect,

and i want to redirect it to the url : https://sanju/hello

Here the test is application which was deployed on the server, i had an conversation with them, they are not changing the application and moreover there are no hello.jsp pages also...they simply want to when ever the users hit the url(http://sanju:9043/test it should be redirect too this https://sanju/hello

the url https://sanju.9043/test they dont want to give that url to users.. they want only https://sanju/hello.
and now the hello is newname??

i hope you got my point??

so what are the necessary steps to be followed to convert that?

Thanks & regards,

sanju

you can do it by the webserver entry.
