how to preserve the NTLM authentication

I've a login.jsp page with username and password fields, in which the username will be filled up with the username of the system(machine : in domain). The user may/maynot edit that string, only the password will be entered by the user. When I submit the form, using the onSubmit(Object command) method, and I try to retrieve the values as below it returns null. Code below :

JSP Code: [ the <%=username%> is the value from the NTLM authentication ]
