What is the best interview question asked to check knowledge on thread.

Also a design question to be asked to check knowledge.

Please share your experience.

First, for some reason, I am asked frequently to talk about threads with a candidate...

There is no simple answer, I just talk about threading issues with the candidate, to get a feel of the experience. And you never know what trips up the candidate. Once, the candidate was going very well, then I asked a softball question... "what do you think of condition variables?". When I got a blank stare, I elaborated "you know, the wait() and notify() methods?". "Or the Condition class?". Apparently, I had just had a 30 minutes of discussion about all things threads, with a candidate that didn't know the concept.

I found this question interesting.

How would you create a safe barrier. Which class you would use. Why? And how would you implement it.

Chan.

Oh sure, it's a tiny ad, but under the right circumstances, it gets bigger.
