Hi, I was wondering if anyone would be willing to train me or develop a web application with me using j2ee. I want to get practice for my new job which I feel I am lagging in. I worked really hard to get a job and would hate to lose it.

Is anyone up for this?

thanks

Hey Bob,

There are loads of frameworks and JEE technologies being used out there to develop web applications. The big guns are
- Spring
- Struts
- JSF
- raw JSP/Servlets ( a bit obsolete now but still used )
..... and many more

so the first thing you should focus on is to understand what technologies are being used in your office. You will find lots of online tutorials over the internet and of-course we ranchers are here to guide you on the way. But I would want you to first focus on these things in the office regarding your new job
1. Which frameworks are being used for MVC development and
2. Which application server is being used for deployment.

These will give us with the direction as to which areas we need to focus on

Do post back for any further queries.

Bob,

Java EE is a HUGE set of technologies and learning over the web in a forum such as this is not the best way to go about trying to secure your job.

Your best bet would be to start at your workplace and try to find a senior developer who will work with you or take under his/her wing. Talk to your supervisor and express your concerns and show that you are willing to make up for your lack of experience with a willingness and eagerness to learn. Find small tasks that you can work on with a little help or better yet, by yourself.

If you get stuck with some details, post your questions and requests for help in these forums. We're here to help but understand that we also have day jobs; we only do this in our spare time and we don't get paid to do it either. Finally, please try to choose the most appropriate forum for your questions to improve your chances of getting a helpful answer.

Good luck
