Try K&B book as your guide and mock tests in K&B questions book, scjptest, examlab etc.

Welcome to the Ranch.

Well which version of JP exam are you referring to? And which version are you planning to get or studying?

Simply put: The v5 and v6 SCJP (now called OCPJP) need 1 exam. The v7 (latest) needs 2 exams (OCA+OCP).

How could I know? It depents on what your goal is. If you do OCPJP6, you can always upgrade to OCPJP 7 (by taking an upgrade exam).

Doing which version really depends on you. Yet some factors to consider:
your java experience
your comfort level by looking at the exam objectives
your current exposure to java opportunities at work

Since you are currently using K&B6 study guide, this guide will allow you to prepare for OCA7. Which of course you then will need to know the new features of Java 7.

By the way IMHO if your ultimate goal is OCJP7 then you will need 2 exams no matter what (OCP6+upgrade or OCA7+OCP7). And starting off with v7 from the beginning is recommended for complete beginners.

Yes v6 only has 1 exam. You can always upgrade to v7 or v8 when it comes out later.

Good luck on your preparation. Do code to reinforce your learning.
