Job Description

Software Developer supports Showtime’s digital initiatives for web, mobile, tablet, and interactive television applications. Areas of focus include back-end Java web development and application performance monitoring and tuning. The Developer also serves as an advisor to junior developers.

Specific responsibilities:
Development

Assume accountability for the success of new applications and projects
Use and mandate best practices in software development, including MVC pattern, Dependency Injection, and RESTful
Web Services

Create reusable components that are scalable and easily maintained
Facilitate communication with front end developers in order to provide them with back-end data solutions for Rich Internet Clients.
Team Leadership

Advise other members of the development team on implementations
Promote standards, usability concepts and best practices
Work with management to streamline the development process
Required Qualifications

To qualify, you must have:
. An excellent foundation with the following technologies: Core Java, Java Servlet API, JSP, XML, JSON, JSTL, Spring MVC, Struts, Hibernate, and JAXB

. Familiarity with databases, preferably Oracle, with ability to code stored procedures, triggers and functions. PL/SQL preferred.

. Comfort level working with both Windows and Unix environments

Familiarity with Tomcat and ability to do minimal configurations.

Outstanding communication skills
