He,
I am using the property file as given below.

I actually want the timestamp in the file name but it is not working
can any one help me to fix this problem

log4j.rootCategory=debug,A2
# A2 is a DailyRollingFileAppender
log4j.appender.A2=org.apache.log4j.DailyRollingFileAppender
log4j.appender.A2.file=C://logg4j_test//sa//log//qw.log
log4j.appender.A2.datePattern='.'yyyy-MM-dd
log4j.appender.A2.append=true
log4j.appender.A2.layout=org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout
log4j.appender.A2.layout.ConversionPattern=%d{ISO8601} [%t] %-5p %c - %m%n

What does "it is not working" mean? What happens when the file is rolled over? I'm not sure if log4j is case-sensitive; I generally use "....DatePattern=...", and that works fine. Other than that, your setup looks OK.
