The Maven Central repository doesn't contain any snapshot versions; you'll have to change the version number of the modeshape-common artifact to one that is in the repository. See http://central.maven.org/maven2/org/modeshape/modeshape-common/ for a list of valid versions. I would use 7.7.4.final

Peter's suggestion sounds sensible. What happened when you implemented it?

I see. It wasn't clear from your reply whether you had actually tried that.

PatienceIsAVirtue.

What are the actual error messages you get when you execute Maven from the command line?

i dont use maven in command line

Then I suggest you start with that. The problem with the screenshot is that it doesn't show the actual problem.

For starters, the screenshot is obsolete by now, because it shows how you tried to download a snapshot version which -as Peter mentioned- is not in the repo.

If you had used Maven on the command line -which I once again strongly advise you should do as the next step- you would know that Maven's error messages are much more elaborate than what is shown in that screenshot. There might well be valuable information missing that you could use to tackle the underlying problem. So if you're interested in making progress on this soon, I think that's a promising approach.

Alternatively, you might consult with people who know something about modeshape - they probably have a mailing list, or forums, for their users.

Sorry, the 7.7.4.Final was typo, should have been 3.7.4.Final. My bad. But it should have been obvious if you clicked on the URL and looked at the available versions.

With the fixed pom dependency in place, open a command line and do the build manually: mvn clean package
Then post the results. I suspect you are getting a different error message.

(No you cannot do this in Eclipse, lets get Eclipse out of the way because it always introduces new errors in its attempts to be helpful. Let's get this working from a command line first, then we'll deal with Eclipse.)
