Whew! I passed my exam today with a far higher score than anticipated. I studied with Mala Gupta's OCPJP7 book (currently in early release program -- so it's missing a few sections, but on the whole it was very helpful in explaining crucial concepts). I also took the Enthuware mock exams, which I think were the most critical in my passing. My average score for those was about 60%, ranging from 45% (ouch) to the last day exam at 75%. My final exam preparation was thanks to all the topics that Enthuware covered-- it's very, very thorough--so while there were a lot of things i studied that i wasn't tested on, there wasn't really anything on the actual
test that I hadn't studied or looked at.
Even though my score was high, the test itself took me just about the entire 2 and a half hours, and I felt it was very difficult. I was really glad that when I was preparing the Enthuware exams, I copied the code of the questions, and ran them on my own machine, making tiny changes just to see what would happen. I think that is the most important part of this exam, just knowing what will happen to code if you make a few changes.
