Hello, I studied for JSE 6 certification with your book, and it's excellent.

I know (hope) this book will be excellent too, but in this book do you explain about Desing Patterns?, because in oracle docs this topic isn't.

Thanks.

Design patterns are aplenty and I think it does not justify to discuss about design patterns in a book like this whose aim is to teach the language basics.

But the book is for certification and this topic is in the exam objetives and it should be in the book

I'm surprised. When did design patterns be part of a Java programmer certification. Well, then I guess it should be discussed in the book!

Since OCPJP7

According to the TOC, design patterns for the exam are covered in one of the chapters.

K. is correct!

Oracle added a handful of design patterns into the new OCP 7 objectives, and so of course, they're in the book

(DAO, singleton, factory)

Also, JavaRanch's very own Jeanne Boyarsky did most of the writing for the design patterns chapter, and we think she did a fine job. Thanks Jeanne!
