confused about which java cert exam to write

hello friends. i am a begginer and i am planning to do certification..but i am not undersanding which one to choose..ocpjp6 or ocpjp 7 ..i have not done any certification .so which one you would suggest me to do?

I suggest you start off with OCAJP7. This covers the basic concepts and Java syntax for beginners.

From there the OCPJP7. The OCAJP7 is a prerequisite for the OCPJP7.

Depending on your background, I would suggest:

1) Read book: OCA/OCP Java SE 7 Programmer I & II Study Guide by Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates (possibly twice if you have to)
2) Create your own mini Java programs to understand the concepts in the book
3) Do plenty of mock exam questions, both the ones in the above book and the others available on the net (see also SCJP FAQs on this site)
