Passed the WebLogic Developers 6.0 Certification Exam.
I probably spent too much time studying the harder topics (got most all of the Transaction, Clustering, and JMS questions correct), but not enough on the shorter topics (missed a few on Database Connectivity and Connection Pooling).
Curiously, very few xml questions on my exam (however, some colleagues who took the exam did have a few). Nothing on the xml registry or the config.xml file, and only a few on the structure and content of deployment descriptor tags. The rest of the exam was pretty evenly spread among clustering, transactions, ejbs, servlets/jsp, rmi, jms, deploying, Admin Console configuration, and even a few on CORBA.
Hopefully this lends some credibility to the study guide Ive put together and distributed to quite a few people. The latest version is 1.5, but if youve already gotten an earlier copy, no need to request new version. The only addition is of WebLogic security (read
Programming WebLogic Security, and Ive re-arranged the order of a few things (such as coming back to Message Driven Beans only after youve gotten a good understanding of
EJB 2.0 and JMS).
Also, although BEA outlines 9 sections on their
Certification Page, in the exam there was only 8. The "Develop WebLogic Components with Vendor Tools" was not tested. The
SCJP exam is also no longer a pre-requisite.
