Newbie Q: I'm trying to open the default console on WebLogic 6.0 and it's asking for a password. Not the one on the server, that I know just fine. I don't remember the setup asking to set a console password...can anyone help me? Should I reinstall?
Thanks
Paul R

Try:
User name: system
Password: theServerOne

Nope.
I tried the password as both case sensitive and all lower-case.
Any other ideas?

The initial admin console password is by default the same one that you chose when you installed WebLogic server (and the same one that you type into the DOS window when you're starting up WebLogic).
So in the pop-up box that you get when starting the admin console:
User Name: system
Password: ThePasswordYouUseToStartWebLogic
That is, of course, that no one has since changed the Admin Console password!

Oops. So that's what Marcos meant by "theServerOne".
Thanks for the clarification Joe.
Second Q: I have the documentation downloaded from BEA for WebLogic 6.0
Can you tell me where the information about the password can be found (just for reference). OR Could you tell me how to search a PDF? I can't figure that one out.
Thanks
Paul R

The reference for logging onto the Admin Console and initial password can be found in the installation guide (or install.pdf)at: http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs60//install/instpos.html#1028026
Also, should you need to search within a pdf file, use ctrl-f, or click on the binoculars icon.

Thanks. Ctrl-f doesn't appear to work the way I'd hoped, but the binoculars work great.

I guess I've been abducted by space aliens. So unprofessional. They tried to probe me with this tiny ad:
