Hello Jeff, Andy, Dave,

While ordering the book at Amazon I got the following message.

'Order now and we'll notify you by email when we have an estimated delivery date for this item.'

But isn't the book available already? I mean Amazon shows those 2 day shipping offers for your book too. So does it imply that I can expect this book to arrive in two days?

Thanks,
Chan.

Edit : I am not really sure if this post should belong in the welcome note to the authors or here. But I'm sure someone will move it to the right forum, if this isn't the right one.

Hi Chan,

Good question. To be honest--a few weeks ago, I was told the book was due out today, but I'm not sure, and I do not yet have print copies myself. The date of publication seems to be a mysterious thing at times.

I'll see if Andy or Dave can weigh in on this one.

Regards,
Jeff

Hi folks!

While the ebook has been available for sometime, our official publication date is tomorrow, and that's when the paper book will be available on our site at pragprog.com. Retail book stores such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc., will offer it for sale sometime after that. Unfortunately that's not something I have control over. Sometimes Amazon has been known to sit on a pile of books on their loading dock for a week or 2 or more (they had that problem over Christmas). Sometimes it shows up right away. Go figure.

At any rate, we start shipping tomorrow, Wed the 17th of March, 2015.

Thanks and enjoy!

Andy clarifies that it's Wed the 18th, and curses the off-by-one (fencepost) error that we discuss in the book. (See: CORRECT --> 2nd C for Cardinality.)

Thanks Jeff and Andy. I've ordered the book anyway. From Amazon, yes -- because of the price difference. :-)

I'm curious about the 'off-by-one (fencepost)' error I will be reading about in the book. This is going to be my first book on unit testing. Late but yea, I'm fixing one of what needed to be fixed. :-)

Hope we will get to read your posts here at Coderanch even after this book promotion is over.

Thank you for ordering the book, Chan! I'll try to hang out at CodeRanch a bit after the promo finishes.
