You can only get SP9 as a separate update for WLS 5.1 if you have a support contract with BEA. However, if you download WLS 5.1 evaluation version, SP9 is included with the download (ie. as an integral part of WLS 5.1).

"crisabanades",
The Java Ranch has thousands of visitors every week, many with surprisingly similar names. To avoid confusion we have a naming convention, described at http://www.javaranch.com/name.jsp . We require names to have at least two words, separated by a space, and strongly recommend that you use your full real name. Please log in with a new name which meets the requirements.
Thanks.
BTW people that don't re-register after being warned have their accounts deleted by the sheriffs eventually so you may as well re-register sooner rather than later.

The latest Service Pack for WLS 5.1 is SP10 (as of 8/30/01); SP11 is probably a couple of weeks away.
To download 5.1 SPs, you now need a WebSUPPORT account,
which you can sign up for at: http://contact.beasys.com/bea/www/BEACustRegLogin.jsp
(This is a recent update to the site. They emailed me my password within the day.)
Once you have a WebSUPPORT account, go to http://websupport.bea.com/custsupp/ and use that account to get in.
When the "BEA Customer Support Site" page loads, scroll down to find the link that says "Previous versions of BEA WebLogic Server", and click that.
Note, do NOT click the link "BEA WebLogic Server Service Packs", this link provides service packs only for version 6.0 of WebLogic Server.
The "Previous versions of BEA WebLogic Server" link will take you to a page on which you'll specify the verison of WLS you are interested in, and which will have a button at the bottom called "Generate download page". Selecting your product and version, then clicking that button, will pop up a new browser window from which you can download your Service Pack, previous versions of WLS, or SP documentation files.
SP installation for 5.1 is generally pretty simple: there is a jarfile that needs to be referenced first in the CLASSPATH, and a jarfile that needs to be referenced first in the WEBLOGIC_CLASSPATH.
Other files are included as detailed in the README, but mostly they get installed by copying them into the <weblogic_home>/lib dir. You can probably skip them for general non-production use, unless they address a particular problem you are seeing.
cheers
