Need help to start the preparation for scjp certification.

Hi All,
I am planning to give scjp certification exam in around October 2015.
So I need to know the basic pre requisites to start the preparation and the materials that are best suited.
And some one please let me know the cost of exam, as I heard I need to clear TWO exams to complete scjp. If yes, what are they and how much does each of them cost ?

It would be very helpful if anyone guides me through this.

for OCJP you must pass 2 exam: OCA and OCJP (in ukraine cost 150$ each)

in my country scjp was 150$ if you want you can pass only this one.
if you want be on edge of technology you shell go to java 8
