Eclipse Mars (4.4) just came out and it is a native Mac app instead of a folder. I'm wondering if when 4.5 comes out if it will be possible to have both 4.4 and 4.5 installed.

In general, is there a way to have multiple versions of the same native app?

Yes. For example, I have multiple versions of IntelliJ. Just make sure that they have a different name in the Applications folder, or install one somewhere else.

Whether their settings will conflict or not is up to the app.

Yes, although it is correct that the names can't be the same, it sometimes causes issues when you try to open a type of file and you want to open it in the newer(updated) version of the application and have to go into settings, select the application, and make it the non primary app for the file type.
