Android for startup and freelance - worth it?

Hey guys. Learned JAVA for 3-4 months, but I think JAVA EE doesn't suit me alot, started learning Android.
While I'm waiting for Big Nerd Ranch 2nd edition, thinking about Head First Android. Got Busy Coder's Guide also....
So basically the question is - have anyone here tried freelancing or creating your own small startup company with intention of creating Android apps? Do you think that there's a lot money to get from?
