Hello,
I am a second year student in computer engineering , I have a goal in mind working in omputer security.I have googled it and tried to read on different forums the path to take but still not clear. And since here i am adressing to security experts,I needed better counseling.
In my various researches I across terms like Network security,Information Sytems security and Ethical hacking.I am interested in securing systems against black hat hackers and finding failures in company's system. My major problem now is knowing which path to choose because by next year,we will be choosing between Software Engineering and Networking engineering..and so i wanted to know which one will be better for me to choose as a base for the Security.
Thanks

It depends on what type of security you are interested. Both branches have security.

I think this is a case of "not knowing what you don't know." I know of more things in the space of software. But that's because I do software.
