Hi,
I'm just getting into WebLogic, downloaded WLS 7.0.
The startup scripts seem nice enough, but there's no shutdown script.
Does everybody use the admin console, which seems to require browsing thro' about 6 links before you get to the control page.
Or do people roll their own scripts?
I'm used to stopping the appserver, running a compile + deploy with ant and then starting it again, from the command line. Would be nice to be able to do the same with WLS.

Put this command in a script file and execute it to shutdown the server
java weblogic.Admin [-url URL] -username username -password password SHUTDOWN [targetserver]

OK, thanks - I played around with it for a while and found that:
- you also need to specify the class path
- it won't use the boot.properties boot identity file that the startup command uses
- it won't even prompt you if you leave out the user & password
I had to put my password in there in clear text to make it work. That's fine for development purposes but seems to be a bit of an oversight by BEA.

Try it! I don't know but if you do that to tomcat, tomcat dies.
