    Your editor this month

By night, Ernest Friedman-Hill heads up the Saloon staff and tries to keep things running smoothly. By day, he runs a team that builds software for setting up supercomputer simulations. He's one of the few people you'll ever meet who actually uses linear algebra and vector calculus. In between, he's been known to draw and paint a little, when the mood strikes.
