A Jumpin JForum Day to y'all. That's right. Can you believe it has been seven years since we went live with the JForum software here at the Ranch? You can read about past years features here. To celebrate, we have some shiny new features for you complements of Devaka, Jaikiran, Jeanne and Tim.
Wiki The wiki has moved and is now a full fledged part of JForum. This means you don't have to sign in separately and get to benefit from all of the other JForum features including flags and bookmarks. All of the data from the original wiki has been moved to the wiki forum. Wiki post types can be posted in any forum of course. Since threads can be in multiple forums at the same time, this means the wiki pages can be in the wiki forum and also the relevant forum. For example, the Servlet FAQ could be in both the Servlet forum and the wiki forum.
The new view We've finally stopped calling the beta view "beta". It is now the normal view and the other view is the "old" view. Both will still be available for a good while as we continue improving the new view. This means it will also be easier to create forums. if you see a topic that you want to help nurture a forum on, please create a thread in this forum so it can be considered.

I haven't really been active in the past few months here and just happened to see the new view (which we used to call beta view) and am really pleased to see how good it looks. I did contribute to it when we decided to upgrade the look and feel of this site, but a lot of credit should go to Devaka, Jeanne and Tim for getting this to production ready stage and having it available to everyone. I see that the new look, looks a lot more polished and smooth compared to what I saw the last time I contributed. It even works great on a tablet. Congratulations
